Life Away From Home-

Living away from home is difficult. And my time at Dhaka's BRAC University has been a mixture of growing experiences and hardships. Since my family is close-knit, I had to adjust living in Dhaka. And my hometown is in Khulna. My adventure has included living with roommates, balancing my course work, and adjusting to a new environment.

Getting enough sleep is one of my major concerns. I feel exhausted sometimes because of late night study. And also early morning classes. Sometimes its so difficult to have a proper sleep in hostel because of the noises and activities here and there. Now, I can realize how hard to have peaceful times and spaces. But its really painful and struggle-some.

A simple satisfying meal

Food is another major issue. At home, i was used to mothers cooking which was always healthy and fresh. And here i have to rely on hostel food which is not that much healthy or nutritious. Sometimes because of my busy schedule, I miss meals. And its really affects my health. I try to cook simple foods though i am not a good cooker. sometimes I really messed up things cause its not always easy to have a proper time for cooking.

My Hostel Room

And the most important thing sharing room with others. Its really challenging for me cause everyone has a different background so interacting with others has taught me a good communication. though i am an introvert person but its really good to know others. But sharing room means you have to compromise on many things. Like study schedule, personal habits and so one. But i am learning to communicate more. Besides, i have learned how to spend money. Sometimes i try a bit to save money and later i use it for my own personal things. Its kind of weird bothering my parents for money to buy some silly things. From this i learnt that money management is also mandatory for bachelor life.

Despite all these difficulties, there are moments of joy and learning. Cause away from home has taught me to be more independent and responsible. I have learned to be more punctual, balance my studies and take care of myself. Its not easy for me but i believe these experiences help me out how to live alone and how to survive in any situations. Although its challenging to live Dhaka as a student. Many of my friends like me has already moved another city or town and they share all their daily activities with me. And then i found that each day comes with its own set of obstacles, but with determination and motivation from my family and dear ones, I am slowly finding my way. And this journey helping me to be more capable and confident and also ready to face the future.
