My First Glimpse of London: My Journey of Discovery
Back in February of last year, I travelled to London for the first time and it was an amazing experience to say the least. The way the city weaves its history seamlessly into a modern urban life is something I have yet to find in another place, and it starts captivating me from when I step off the plane. From classic sites like Big Ben to vibrant scenes in Camden Town, each corner presents something fresh and exciting. When I had stayed with my uncle just for one month, not only did I get to visit the most touristy spots but also stumbled across some of the cool kid hideouts in London. I will write my journey in this blog and how I perceived London for the first time.
Tower Bridge & London Eye :
Visiting Tower Bridge was one of my favorite things to do in London. When i got closer to the bridge, immediately the tall structure, amazing pillars, luxurious vehicles and huge crowd impressed me. While walking through the bridge and suddenly I stopped in the middle and saw so many uber boats, small ships going under the bridge. Afterwards we crossed the bridge, we were walking along the river bank and also saw some Bengali people. who set up a stall and were selling foods.
On the other hand, I clearly remember on 23rd February we went to the London eye to take a ride . I was super excited since it was my first time. So, when we got there and got the opportunity to see the world’s largest Ferris wheel. The Icon of a Skyline, and Breaking Records London eye is not just an attraction; it’s a landmark that redefines the city skyline.. We stood in the queue to buy tickets and each tickets cost £40 pound as far as I remember. When it was out turn to board , I immediately got into there. After a few moment the Ferris wheel started to move and my heart raced with excitement. As we climbed higher, I was struck by the expansive view unfolding below. Eventually once we reached the top, it was a breathtaking view. I could see the Big Ben, house of parliament, the Shard and so on. The ride lasted about more than 30 minutes and it felt like a perfect blend of serenity and excitement.
Big Ben & China Town :
Two days after that we went to see Big Ben by going to Westminster station on the London Underground, arriving on 25th February. As I walked up the stairs to exit the station, there was this huge iconic clock tower in front of me. Big Ben isn't just a clock; it's an iconic symbol of London. One day, I wandered around Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament for a bit. The River Thames was right in close proximity too, and I loved to walk along the river where pretty boats sailed by and families had picnics on the lawn. Feeling so much life in its colorful surroundings put me back in time, into the people who had half maybe a century ago felt the same vibing colors.
