The 90 Minutes

The 90 Minutes: A game contains thousands of joys and emotions.

Football!huh!! From which incident should i write to express my love for this game? Is it the moment where Cristiano Ronaldo calmed The Camp Nou (2012) or Sergio Ramos's crucial equalising goal in 93rd minute of the match (2014) . Maybe i still can't figure it out. Football has been always more than a game to me; it's a passion that  runs deep into my veins. From the heated moments of El Classico to the heart stopping drama drama of the Fifa World Cup.

From playing football every afternoon with my friends and  elder brothers , I felt this game so closely. To begin with, my position in the field as CB(Center Back) .The story behind me playing as a CB was very interesting and that is I idolise Cristiano so it's obvious I wanted to play in an attacking role but all the positions in attack were filled by our elder brothers . Then our team's captain decided to use me as a central defender because of height advantage. After a few months , I  realised it was the best position for me . Then I followed the game of Sergio Ramos and improved my game. Many Things i learned from Sergio by watching his matches such as his leadership and his mentality on the pitch. i also liked his aggressive nature on the pitch because i also believe do anything to make your team then it could be making harsh tackles or winning headers.

I led this team in a local football tournament . Team name was "House of lords" inspired by The Great Alvaro Morata. But we lost in the Semi . But it doesn't mean i could achieve anything in this game .One of the best achievements as a player was winning a college football tournament.

My love for this game has expanded far beyond the playground; it now thrives in every corner of my life, from street matches to late night watching games and analysing tactics with friends , brothers even with my father. I still remember those arguments on who is the real G.O.A.T of football .Is it Messi or Ronaldo? But these argument of ours never finished . Late night UCL matches was crazy. There, i witnessed how giant teams bottled against small teams, the comebacks of Real Madrid in Bernabeu . We also used to analyse a big team's formation ,how they play and their styles etc.  From understanding  The Classic 4-3-3 formation how midfielders coordinate with defence and attacks to  other playing styles like Park the Bus ,Tiki Taka, High Press ,long ball, Counter attack etc. Also the commentaries on this game bring a whole new level of excitement, turning each moment into a thrilling narrative. The famous commentator Peter Drury said on Ronaldo's Return to Manchester United- Hometown Hero Reference(2021)

"From Madeira, Manchester, Madrid, Turin and Manchester again , from the boy to the man, from the prodigy to the talisman, Cristiano Ronaldo returns to where it all began, now a legend of the game".

For me the best moment was when Portugal won the EURO 2016 . Their journey inspired me very much . I still remember when Portugal's star player cristiano subbed off because of injury but they didn't lose their nerve against mighty France and the Eder's stunner goal which helped them to win the Euro.

But it is not always enjoyable for a fan. There are many moments where our favourite team, club or player fails badly. For me ,Cristiano got knocked out from the world cup and also from Euro 2024 are the saddest moments .

Roberto Baggio carried his whole team in 1994 World cup but he missed the final penalty shoot against Brazil in the fianl.  His teamamtes tried to console him but he knows what mistake he had done and he barely moves from that penalty spot . Maybe then he said to himself - I died here ...standing on this spot .

In football time may be finite ,but the memories made during those 90 minutes last a lifetime ......
